A Show About Broadband in Australia

There’s not much TV material here yet, but soon this will be the home planet of The Broadband Show. It’s a TV documentary about the rollout of super-fast broadband across Australia. I’m your host, George Bray.

It’s ten years since I travelled Australia as the Roving Ambassador for the Internet Industry Association. That Tech Trek gave me the opportunity to report internet access issues across Australia, and demonstrate the potential of wireless broadband solutions. These days, I’m travelling to the first NBN trial sites talking to people about super-fast broadband.

Now that Australia is being enabled with the National Broadband Network, I’m interviewing our innovators and reporting how Australians are benefitting from high-speed broadband. This is an exciting journey visiting everyday people as well as our brightest researchers and industry leaders.

The pilot episode (30 mins) includes interviews with the public about current and future broadband services, as well as commentary from experts about the changes taking place right now. It focuses on discovering new applications of broadband technology and how they affect everyday Australians.

So even though this is a bit experimental, the Broadband Show is all about discovering and reporting the social change that’s occurring as Australia becomes enabled with super-fast broadband over the next decade.

I don’t know when the pilot episode will be released, as I have to fit this project between other work.
